Based in Nashville, Tennessee
We seek markets with strong fundamentals for development and investment opportunities — population dynamics, economic growth, household formation, and development trends — focusing on submarkets within them that exhibit good urban form and strong momentum. We focus on real estate projects close to home in Nashville, but consider all opportunities in which we can apply our innovative place-led development model.
The key driving force for our placemaking work is community support — both expressed desire among residents for improved public space experiences, and the commitment from communities to support public life on an ongoing basis. Most importantly, our placemaking work is community-led, with local partners down to the neighborhood- and block-level providing on-the-ground expertise and residents leading the change they seek in their neighborhoods.
Alex formed Yellowbrick Urban to apply his varied experiences to transform urban environments through strategic real estate and placemaking projects.
In 2016, Alex organized the Yellowbrick Street Team - a nonprofit placemaking collective that received international recognition for its unique projects, contrarian approach, and community impact.
Seeing a need for a place-led approach to the improvement of urban neighborhoods, he started Yellowbrick Urban in 2018 to align his work enlivening public spaces with the development of the properties around them.
Alex holds a Master of Real Estate Development from Clemson University and brings a decade of experience brokering, acquiring, repositioning, and developing more than $250 million in real estate.
